I have been practicing meditation since 2007, when I first got involved with a Korean Zen Buddhist group in Chicago catering to Westerners (but not “overly catering”). I trained in seminary for one year under Ven. Samu Sunim. I then went on a bicycle tour of the U.S and Canada (chronicled here) solely for the purpose of riding my bike. I recently moved to Los Angeles where I am part of the Against the Stream Meditation Society, a Theravadan school led by Noah Levine, where the motto lives: “Meditate and Destroy.”
